The members, executive board and long-term community renters of the German Canadian Cultural Society (Victoria Edelweiss Club) would like to express our sincere appreciation and publicly acknowledge the support of the Mayor, Council and staff of the City of Victoria who voted to grant the Permissive Tax Exemption to the Victoria Edelweiss Club for the taxation years 2023 to 2025. The vote was held on August 4, 2022. This is of significant assistance to Victoria’s German Canadian cultural centre given these difficult times. It acknowledges the efforts of our dedicated volunteer-run, non-profit society which operates the Victoria Edelweiss Club for the benefit of the many community groups that use our facility on a regular basis. With the ongoing assistance of Victoria Council and staff we can continue to contribute to the ethnic diversity which makes the City of Victoria one of Canada’s premier cities.
